How many photos are on the Web?

At this very moment, the website Flicker.com boasts to having over two billion photos available for perusal!

According to IDC company, over 250 billion digital photos were taken in 2006 !

There is no comparison between these incredible numbers and those from the days when we developed pictures from film!

What is even more amazing is the rapid progression of this visual depository!

With the arrival of a new generation of cell phones on the market, like Apple’s iPhone™, we also will be able to take part in the explosive progression itself.

We live in a world of exponential markets, where 350 million digital photos are downloaded daily onto our computers, with a non negligible percentage published on the Internet for everyone’s disposal. In the future, cell phone companies will offer services that provide automatic photo uploading capabilities directly from one’s phone to the Internet thanks to mediums such as Flickr™.

In the near future, one can estimate that practically every photo taken by digital camera devices will connect instantaneously to a preferred web platform of choice.
